"Alexander’s biggest asset is his vulnerability, and never does he sound more impassioned than he does as the track unfolds..." - Frederick News Post
Bio:
Known for his powerful performances, and honest lyrics, Luke James Alexander has shared stages across the Eastern-US with the likes of Tyler Childers, Fred Tackett & Paul Barrere, Delta Rae, and even snuck in an honorable mention in the nationally-recognized 2015 NPR Tiny Desk Concert Contest with his flagship band, Big Hoax. Luke now performs under his own moniker in which he believes he's written his best material of his career, and has earned his calluses as a performer to take the next step in his artistic endeavour.
"Luke Alexander's earthy vocals lead his bandmates' instruments - upright bass, cello, trumpet, pedal steel guitar, piano to name a few- through a range of songs: outright folk, upbeat stomps, sunny bossa nova, a lovers' waltz. At times, they bring to mind the rich authentic harmonies of a young Mumford and Sons; at others, they evoke the worldly darkness of an early-album Dave Matthews. But all the while, Big Hoax remains uniquely themselves, experimenting with form and genre, creating a robust medley of Americana sound." -Baltimore Magazine
